Valentine's

All of the sudden I began thinking that we haven't done anything lately so as we have Valentine's here I have decided to do something and surprise you

As you can see, my efforts were in making biscottis, they are a mix of different recipes

But of course, they do have to have chocolate smeared all over and due to the occasion: "Red hearts"

And they are on their way to you my loggia companions, enjoy them!!!!

Cinnamon Chocolate Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, melted
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

• Preheat oven to 300°F.
• In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth. Stir in chocolate.
• In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cinnamon, and salt.
• Add dry ingredients to chocolate mixture; knead in bowl until a soft dough forms.
• On a lightly floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
• Use cookie cutters to cut out cookies.
• Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
• Bake 15-20 minutes or until firm.
• Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Yield about 7 dozen 1.5-2.5inch cookies

I know that I went over the top, but as it was my first attempt to make cookies I began trying recipes and that is why you got what you got

Matt almost didn't want to share after taking a first bite for the camera.
But I fought him for it and ran away with the box of deliciousness...
